Are you thinking of Mobile Marketing ?
What came to your mind when November last year you heard the news that Google acquired Admob for $750 million ? And did you hear about Apple purchasing Admob’s competitor Quattro Wireless in Jan this year ?
What’s common between Admob and Quattro Wireless ? both are mobile advertising solution providers. These market moves are clear indicators of the fact that sooner mobile advertising will be huge a key mobile players in US are rushing towards to set in to mobile advertising dynamics. Google Adsense for mobile aps is in beta stage here .
I was not surprised but kept thinking aloud about what does it mean to a business – large , small , brick and mortar, online store front. Since I talk mostly in perspective of a small businesses let’s ask these questions to ourselves –
- Do we have a website ? If yes then does that website is only desktop optimized or just Mobile Optimized ?
- Are there any people visiting my website from their mobile sets ?
- I know email marketing works…. I am also aware of lead generation from email marketing campaigns and social media marketing but is there any concept of mobile marketing or lead generation from mobile marketing ?
- Can I do mobile marketing from my small business ?
- What it will cost me? what are the solution providers I can use ?
……………………………………. the list of questions is endless. I know as I am writing this post I am getting scores of questions in my brain every second. For those who know me and the kind of work I do will tell how much importance mobile or the 3rd screen is for me. In early 2008 I came across a text alert or sms alert service provider by the name TextMarks . That time they used to provide a free service subscribing to blogs via SMS ( short messaging service ) . I even had it on my test blog as seen in screenshot below -
I also did some research on how mobile marketing can give cutting edge to any small business. The topic is huge and I won’t be able to do complete justice by sharing facts in one blog post. I will conclude this post with a promise to continue to write and research about mobile marketing but in the meanwhile if you have a Blog then I recommend making your blog mobile compatible by using the service by the name Mofuse . Scroll down to the bottom of the home page where you will see a section MoFuse for blogs, just click on the button as seen in image below and proceed further.
The instructions are simple and wont take much of your time. So go ahead and take this first step and make your blog mobile friendly today. I will continue to write about mobile marketing as to me this is the future and will become a must in coming months.
If you like this post then please feel free to share it. If you have any questions please feel free to sue the comments feature to ask your question. I will write again soon!
